Ponos (altgriechisch Ξ ΟŒΞ½ΞΏΟ‚ PΓ³nos, deutsch β€šMΓΌhe, Not, Leidenβ€˜) war in der griechischen Mythologie ein Daimon, der die ZwangsbemΓΌhung, die schwere Arbeit (Arbeitsleid) und die ErmΓΌdung verkΓΆrpert. Ihm entspricht der Labor in der rΓΆmischen Mythologie.

Nach Hesiods Theogonie war er der Sohn von Eris,cite-ref-1[1] wΓ€hrend er in Ciceros De natura deorum von Nyx und Erebos abstammt.cite-ref-2[2]

In Senecas TragΓΆdie Oedipus wird Oedipus von Ponos ins Exil begleitet.cite-ref-3[3]
